The world of sports in 471 words.

It's not a surprise really, just funny.
Bennie and I, needless to say, have been slacking when it comes to updating this website. Looking at the last entry, how excited were we the Lions were 6-2 and on the fast track to the playoffs?? How smart was Jon Kitna's 10-win prediction?? Now, I think about the Lions and find myself in an indescribable emotion that allows me to weep, yet chuckle at myself at the same time.
But it did dawn on me on how much has happened in the world of sports since we last put anything on the website. It kind of made me feel bad and I want to catch everyone up on what has happened in the world of sports, but without boring everyone. So here it is, the last month of sports in under 471 words:
(Starting now)
Detroit Lions- Ouch. A tough schedule has diminished the teams hopes at a playoff run and have suddenly lost all the momentum they gained throughout the first 8 games. At 6-5 and having arguably the hardest remaining schedule in the NFL, don't expect much. Should of seen it coming.
Detroit Pistons- Injuries have been bad. The young ones have looked good. 8-5 record as of now. Not great, but don't be concerned yet.
Detroit Red Wings- Yes they do exist. They are the best in the West at 15-6-2, and the second best in the NHL. Let's pay attention before it's too late.
Detroit Tigers- Edgar Renteria for two prospects is a good deal. Although Jurjjens and Gorkys Hernandez will be solid players, we are deep in these positions from Class A on up. Dear Zumaya: Please be okay.
Grand Rapids Griffins- Have won one home game. Yes, in three weeks ONE home game. They are struggling.
Grand Valley State- Once again unbelievable. The Football team still hasn't lost and their streak is at 39 straight victories heading into the third round of the D-2 playoffs. The Basketball team is ranked #3 in the country and beat Michigan State...seriously.
UofM Football- Mike Hart looks foolish with his MSU post-game comments as they lose the last two games. Goodbye Lloyd, it's been fun. Hello Les--thank you Arkansas.
Michigan St. Football- Tremendous end of the season that Spartan fans aren't used to. Give coach Dantonio the credit he deserves after two tough and impressive wins, leading MSU to a bowl game. He's still scary.
Fantasy Football- Tom Brady is still ridiculous, Drew Brees is back and Lamont Jordan hardly plays now. Look for Jamal Lewis to finish strong, and Plaxico to struggle.
UofM Basketball- Still growing, but Manny Harris looks amazing so far. Don't expect them to beat any big names flooding their schedule throughout the year. A NCAA berth this year would be amazing, but Belien seems to have the right idea.
Michigan St. Basketball- Playing to the level of their competition. A nasty trend over the last few years for this program. They lost to Grand Valley, almost lost to Michigan Tech and Oakland U., but won. They almost beat #1 UCLA, but lost in the last thirty seconds. They are still too talented not to be a legitimate contender.
Barry Bonds- I speak for all Sports Media when I say "Thank you for making my job easier."
Alex Rodriguez- You're rich.
Adrian Peterson- You're good.
OJ Simpson- You suck at life.
Ricky Williams- Welcome back. I think you're funny.
Sean Taylor- Rest in Peace. You had your problems, but were a great player who seemed to be turning around your life. You would of been one of the best Safeties to ever play the game.
There. 18 days and 471 words and you are caught up.
You can thank me later.
