The fatal crash that closed a portion of a highway closed in Ottawa County this morning has been cleared. The road has reopened. A driver going the wrong way on Eastbound I-96 struck a car head-on near 112th Avenue. One person died in the accident.
Barry County Sheriff’s Sergeant was in pursuit of a vehicle for excessive speed. The suspect vehicle began to flee at M37 and Adams Rd, and continued west bound until the suspect vehicle failed to stop at the intersection Bass Rd and Patterson Rd. As the suspect vehicle entered the intersection, it struck a south bound vehicle and both vehicles continued west bound and came to rest in Allegan County. The driver of the south bound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the suspect vehicle, Matthew Nosanov, was ejected from his vehicle and was transported to a hospital in Grand Rapids. His injuries are unknown at this time.
