Officials in Newaygo are advising residents of the western Michigan city of 2,000 to boil their water before using it.
WOOD-TV says authorities issued the warning after a water main broke Sunday morning. Officials say crews discovered the break on East Street and were working to repair it. They say they expect the boiling order to remain in effect for several days.
A water main break can lower pressure in the system, allowing sewage and other pollution to enter pipes serving homes and businesses.
