Stay Out of Lake Michigan Today: Dangerous Rip Currents!

Posted Tuesday, August 12th 2014 @ 4am

National Weather Service Chart

A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect through late tonight.

We expect high wave action, strong currents, and dangerous swimming conditions today.

Very Dangerous Beaches today include: North Beach in South Haven, Holland State Park, Muskegon State Park, Mears State Park in Pentwater, and Stearns Park in Ludington.

With North Winds building to 25 miles per hour this morning, waves will be running as high as eight feet.

These waves will drop water temperatures into the 50's creating a real danger of hypothermia.
