Michigan lawmakers recently approved a $53 billion budget, which included just over $10 million for "special projects" in the Michigan Strategic Fund Budget.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the 'special projects' include $1.25 million for the West Michigan Regional Airport in Holland and $1.5 million for the Yankee Air Museum at the Willow Run Airport in southeast Michigan.

Further, $1 million is going to the Saginaw Art Museum.

Other earmarks include $1.5 million for the Grand Rapids Downtown Market and $700,000 is going for the FirstMerit Bank Event Park in Saginaw.

Also, $225,000 is going for a senior center in Capac and $175,000 is going to the Waterford Township Fire Department.

Two million dollars goes to the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund, to commemorate officers killed in the line of duty.

And $1.5 million goes to continuing a year-round school pilot project and $300,000 goes to a pre-college engineering program for students in Detroit, according to the newspaper.
