Musician and entertainer Henry Rollins said he's critical of suicide in the wake of the death of Robin Williams.

Comedy legend Williams took his own life earlier this month. The star had struggled with addiction, depression and the early stages of Parkinson's disease.

Rollins, in an essay published with L.A. Weekly, says he respects Williams for his acting and comedic talent, but questions the act of suicide.

"When someone negates their existence, they cancel themselves out in my mind," he writes.

Rollins offers a mixed narrative, struggling with coping with someone else's demons at times and critical of how suicide can be inherently selfish.

"@#!& suicide," he writes. "Life isn’t anything but what you make it."

[WARNING: Rollins' essay uses harsh language.]
