According to a story in Tuesday Free Press, a Michigan landfill is now taking radioactive waste from fracking sites in Pennsylvania. Tons of the material is destine for the Wayne Disposal landfill near Belleville. The landfill is licensed to accept this material and there is no indication any laws have been broken.
The radioactive materials are low level. But environmentalists still worry it may find it's way into the groundwater below the landfill.
