Second-offense drunke drivers are being offered a second chance through a program started recently in Grand Haven.
The Grand Haven Tribune reports that the first eight participants of the 58th District Court Sobriety Treatment Program were greeted last month by Judge Craig Bunce. They also received an introduction to the program.
Bunce says he has seen many drunken drivers in the year that he has been a judge.
Participants accepted into the program must agree to random spot checks by probation officers, daily drug testing, community service work, mental health counseling and alcohol monitoring devices.
The program can last up to two years.
