The Detroit Tigers lost to the Blue Jays again yesterday afternoon (7-3) as Toronto completed a 3-game sweep of the Tigers, who have now lost 5 in a row.  Starter Justin Verlander gave up six runs, five earned, on eight hits while striking out four in seven innings for the loss.  Tonight, the Tigers open a three-game set against the Boston Red Sox.  First pitch is 7:08pm....Drew Smyly will get the start for Detroit.  Also, the Tigers selected an outfielder with their first pick in the 2014 First Year Player Draft.  With the 23rd overall pick, Detroit took Derek Hill out of Elk Grove, California.  Hill is the cousin of former outfielder Darryl Strawberry.  In the second round, the Tigers selected right handed pitcher Spencer Turnbull from the University of Alabama.  The draft continues with rounds three through ten today and concludes tomorrow with rounds 11-40. 

Tomorrow afternoon the 146th. running of the Belmont Stakes will take place.  (3-5) favorite "California Chrome" is going for the Triple Crown....riding a six-race winning streak.  The horse will start in the #2 starting spot under jockey Victor Espinoza and will try to become the first horse since "Affirmed" in 1978 to win the Triple Crown. 

In U-M football recruiting news, USC tailback Ty Isaac has announced that he will transfer to the University of Michigan for next year.  Isaac, originally from Joliet, Illinois, is reportedly making the move in part to be closer to his family.  Last season he had 40 carries for 236 yards for the Trojans. 

The Big Ten is keeping its football championship game in Indianapolis through 2021.  The game will continue to be played at Lucas Oil Stadium.  The conference's basketball tournament will now rotate with Chicago and Indianapolis between 2019 and 2022. 

The West Michigan Whitecaps made it two for two in the win column with a (6-2) victory over the Great Lakes Loons.  Tonight it's another Tiger Friday at Fifth-Third Ballpark as former Tiger's pitcher - Daryl Patterson from the 1968 World Series championship team will be in attendance.  Gates open at 5:30pm - First pitch is set for 7pm. 

And don't forget tonight is the Red Arrow Legends Game at Red Arrow Stadium as the Lowell Alumni will take on the alumni from Lakewood.  Kickoff is 7:30pm and tickets are just $5 at the gate.  Former Lowell players who will be playing are Keith Nichol, Mike Koster, Jordan Moore and more.
