The Big Ten Regular Season champion Michigan Wolverines were well-represented last night with post season awards.  Nik Stauskas was named the Big Ten's Player of the Year while John Beilein was honored as the Big Ten Coach of the Year.  Caris LeVert also landed on the Second Team while Glenn Robinson the Third was an honorable mention selection.  Derrick Walton, Jr. was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman team.  For Michigan State, sophomore guard Gary Harris was named to the First Team All-Big Ten squad.  Adreian Payne was named to the Second Team.

The Detroit Lions can officially start signing free agents today at 4pm when the market opens up for business.  NFL teams were allowed to start negotiating with free agents on Saturday morning.  Detroit figures to have just under $12 million dollars in salary cap space to play with.

Miguel Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers and Nick Castellanos  added a 3-run shot as the Tigers rolled over St. Louis (17-5) in Grapefruit League play.  Starter Max Scherzer scattered two hits and struck out five over 4 2/3 innings.  Detroit will host the Blue Jays today in Lakeland.  Game time is 1:05pm.

The Red Wings will travel to Columbus tonight to meet the Blue Jackets.  The puck drops at 7pm, and both teams are tied with 71 points, which puts them even for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

The Detroit Pistons play host to the Sacramento Kings tonight at the Palace.  Tip-off time is set for 7:30pm.
